The Wegovy shot week

Wegovy (semaglutide) is injected once a week, and most people describe a weekly rhythm: appetite suppression strongest in the first two to three days after the shot, appetite and energy returning mid-week, and hunger strongest in the last day or two before the next injection. Because semaglutide has a long half-life, some people find the pattern flatter than they expected, particularly after several months at a stable dose.

What Wegovy users often notice

Planning around it

The same approach applies as for any weekly GLP-1: no-cook protein ready for the suppression days, the hardest training session on a return day, and structured meals rather than improvised ones in the pre-shot window when hunger is strongest. Recompose does this scheduling for you through its cycle engine.

Common questions

Does Wegovy have a weekly cycle of side effects?

Many people describe one: strongest appetite suppression in the first two to three days after injecting, easing through the middle of the week. Because semaglutide is long-acting, the pattern is often less pronounced than with some other GLP-1s, and it tends to flatten after several months at a stable dose.

Is the Wegovy week the same as the Ozempic week?

Both contain semaglutide and are injected weekly, so the pattern people describe is broadly similar. They are licensed for different purposes and dosed differently, so how they are prescribed to you is a matter for your prescriber.
