Terms and conditions
These terms are the agreement between you and Recompose when you use the Recompose app or website. In short: Recompose is an information and habit-tracking app for people already taking GLP-1 medication prescribed to them by someone else. It is not a medical service, it does not prescribe or supply medication, and it is not a substitute for your prescriber. You can cancel a subscription at any time and keep access until the end of the period you have paid for.
1. Agreeing to these terms
You agree to these terms when you create a Recompose account, and each time you use the app or the website. If you do not agree with them, please do not use Recompose. They sit alongside our privacy policy, which explains what we do with your information.
If we change these terms in a way that materially affects you, we will tell you by email or in the app before the change takes effect, and you may cancel rather than accept it.
2. Who we are
Recompose Ltd operates the Recompose app and website. It is a company registered in England and Wales with company number 17275608, and its registered office is 71-75 Shelton Street, London, WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom. You can write to us at 104 Hulme High Street, Manchester, M15 5JP, United Kingdom, or email hello@getrecompose.com. We are based in the United Kingdom.
3. What Recompose is, and is not
Recompose is a daily companion app. It helps you record what you eat, how you train and how you feel, and it organises that around the week following your GLP-1 injection. The information it shows is general information and lifestyle support.
- Recompose does not provide medical advice, and nothing in the app is a diagnosis, a treatment, or a recommendation to start, stop or change any medication or dose.
- Recompose does not prescribe, supply, sell or arrange the supply of any prescription medication, including Mounjaro, Wegovy and Ozempic.
- Recompose is not affiliated with Eli Lilly, Novo Nordisk or any other manufacturer. Those names are their trademarks, and we use them only to describe who the app is for.
- Recompose is not a medical device and is not registered with the MHRA as one.
- Recompose is not a pharmacy and is not registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
- Your prescriber, pharmacist or GP manages your treatment. If their advice and the app ever differ, follow theirs.
If you feel unwell, or you have symptoms that worry you, contact your prescriber, GP or NHS 111. In an emergency call 999. Do not wait to log it in an app.
4. Who can use it
You must be 18 or over and resident in the United Kingdom to hold a Recompose account, and you confirm this when you sign up. The app is written for people who have already been prescribed a GLP-1 medication and are taking it under supervision. It is not designed for, and should not be used by, anyone who is pregnant or breastfeeding, anyone with a current or past eating disorder, or anyone whose clinician has advised against tracking food or weight.
5. Your account
- You can sign up with an email address and password, or with a Google or Facebook sign-in (or Apple, in our iPhone app).
- Keep your login details to yourself. You are responsible for anything done through your account, so tell us straight away if you think someone else has used it.
- One account is for one person. Please do not share it or log someone else’s health information in it.
- You can delete your account at any time from Me → Your data → Delete my account, or from the Delete your data page.
6. The information you enter
What you get out of Recompose depends on what you put in. Targets, plans and summaries are calculated from the details you enter: your weight, your medication, your injection day, what you log. If those are wrong, the output will be wrong. We do not verify them, and we cannot.
You keep ownership of everything you enter. You give us permission to store and process it in order to run the app for you, and nothing more. Health data sits behind a separate consent from your account data, and you can withdraw that consent, which erases the health data, at any time from Me → Consent & privacy. The detail is in our privacy policy.
7. What the features do, and their limits
Every part of the app reflects your own entries back to you or offers general ideas. None of it is tailored clinical advice. In particular:
- Your shot week and daily guidance. The cycle day, stage names and guidance cards describe a pattern many people report. They are not a prediction about your body, and everyone’s week is different.
- Protein targets. The suggested target is a starting point worked out from the weight and goal you enter. It is not a prescription, and you can change it.
- Food search, barcode scanning and nutrition figures. Figures come from public reference datasets, listed on our licences page, and from product labels. They are standard reference values to help you count, not exact figures for the food on your plate, and not dietary advice.
- Product scores when you scan. A score is a factual summary of a product’s own nutrition numbers. It is not advice and not a judgement on any one choice.
- Meal and grocery ideas. These are ideas sized for where you are in your week. Check ingredients yourself if you have an allergy or intolerance. We do not check recipes against your allergies.
- Workouts and guided sessions. These are general movement ideas, not personalised exercise or medical advice. Exercise within your own limits, stop if you feel dizzy, faint or unwell, and speak to your GP before starting if you have a health condition or injury. You exercise at your own risk.
- Weekly and monthly strength check-ins. The strength signals are a trend built from your own answers and measurements. They are not a measurement of muscle mass.
- Weight, BMI and body measurements. These are shown as numbers only, from what you enter. Questions about what they mean are for your GP or pharmacist.
- Lab tracking. You enter values and the reference range printed on your own report, and the app charts them. If you ask it to, the app copies those values off a report you attach, for you to check before they are saved. It never interprets or comments on a result.
- Export for your GP. The PDF is a record of what you logged. We do not read or interpret it, and it is created on your own device.
- Reminders. Reminders for injections, sachets, meals and refills are a convenience and are delivered on a best-effort basis. Notifications can be delayed or blocked by your phone or network, so do not rely on them as your only prompt for medication.
- Refill and medication counters. The pen-dose and sachet counts are records you keep. Recompose does not advise on doses or prescriptions and does not reorder medication.
- Activity and sleep. Steps, sleep and heart-rate figures are entries you add, or, if you choose to connect it in the phone app, figures read from Apple Health or Health Connect. We only read steps, sleep, resting heart rate and exercise minutes, never write anything back, and never use this data for advertising. It is shown back as simple trends and is never turned into advice.
- Calm space, check-ins and reflections. These are for your own reflection. They are not therapy or a mental-health service. If a week feels heavy, your GP can help, and in the UK you can call Samaritans free on 116 123 at any time.
8. AI features
Some features use an automated AI system to produce an answer: the food estimates from a description or a photo, the companion chat, the instant answers in Learn, and a short reflection line in your progress patterns.
- AI answers are generated automatically and can be wrong. Treat a food estimate as a rough guide and check anything that matters.
- The AI is instructed not to give medical advice, not to diagnose and not to advise on doses. It will point you to your GP, pharmacist or NHS 111 for anything clinical.
- There is a fair-use limit on AI questions each month. When you reach it, the feature pauses until the next month and the rest of the app keeps working.
- Please do not type other people’s personal information into an AI feature.
9. Questions to the Recompose team
You can send a written question to the team from Learn. Answers are general information about the programme, the sachets and the science behind them. They are not a consultation and not advice about your own treatment. The team includes pharmacists who are registered in India; they are not registered with the UK’s General Pharmaceutical Council, and this is not a pharmacy service. An answer that would be useful to others may be published in the app with your name and details removed.
10. The community (Circle)
Circle is a space for members on the same medication to talk to each other. Posts are written by members, not by us, and nothing in Circle is medical advice.
- Be kind. No harassment, hate, threats or bullying.
- Do not post other people’s personal information, and think carefully before sharing your own medical details.
- Do not offer, sell, swap or ask for prescription medication, and do not tell other members what dose to take or what to do about their treatment.
- Do not advertise, spam or post anything unlawful.
- Photos you attach can be seen by other members and could be saved by them. Crop out faces, tattoos and anything identifying, and do not include other people.
You keep ownership of what you post. You give us permission to show it to other members inside the app for as long as it stays posted. You can post anonymously, and you can delete your own posts at any time. Any member can report a post; reported posts are hidden while we review them. We may remove posts that break these rules and, if it keeps happening, close the account.
11. Free access, paid plans and prices
Recompose is £9.99 a month. Current prices are always shown on the pricing page and in the app before you pay, and those are the prices that count if anything here ever falls out of date.
- New accounts get 7 days of full access to the paid features, with no card required. When those 7 days end the app keeps working. You simply return to the free features unless you subscribe.
- The pricing page lists what is free and what the app plan adds. Everyday tracking and safety information stay free.
- Subscriptions renew automatically each month until you cancel.
- A promotional code applies only as described when it is offered. For example, code EARLY10 takes £10 off the first box of sachets bought by a waitlist member; later boxes are charged at the standard price.
- A waitlist place costs £1. We hold it as credit on your account and take it off your first app subscription payment, and we will refund it if you ask before then. Each place comes with a personal, single-use code for a free first month of the app: using it needs a payment card, and the app then renews monthly at the price shown above until you cancel.
- The first 1,000 paid waitlist places are founding members. We tell you by email when you join whether you are one. A founding member keeps the app at £9.99 a month for as long as their app subscription stays active without a break, even if the price later rises for new members; the lock ends if the subscription is cancelled or lapses. Founding members are also offered each new batch of sachets before it goes on general sale, subject to stock, can show a Founding member badge in the app, and can write to the founders directly at hello@getrecompose.com. Founding membership belongs to the person who paid for the place, cannot be transferred, and ends if the waitlist place is refunded.
- On the web we take payment through Stripe. We never see or store your full card details.
- We will tell you by email before any price change affecting your subscription, and you can cancel before it takes effect.
- If a payment fails we may retry it, and may pause paid access until it succeeds.
12. Subscribing through the App Store or Google Play
If you subscribe to the app plan inside our iPhone or Android app, Apple or Google sells you the subscription and takes the payment, under their own terms. You manage and cancel it in your Apple or Google account settings, not with us, and refunds for those purchases are handled by Apple or Google. Deleting your Recompose account does not cancel a store subscription, so cancel it in the store first.
13. Sachets
Recompose Sachets are a food supplement, sold separately from the app. A pouch holds 60 sachets, 30 for the morning and 30 for the evening, which is a 30-day supply. A box is £79.99, paid once, and nothing renews. The app works without them.
- Food supplements are not medicines. They do not treat, cure or prevent any condition, and they are not a substitute for a varied diet or for your prescribed medication.
- Read the label and do not exceed the stated daily amount. Check the ingredients if you have an allergy.
- Speak to your pharmacist or GP before taking them if you take other medication, have a medical condition, or are pregnant or breastfeeding.
- We deliver to UK addresses. Delivery times are estimates.
- If a pouch arrives damaged or faulty, tell us and we will replace or refund it. Your legal rights for faulty goods are not affected by anything on this page.
14. Cancelling and refunds
You can cancel at any time from inside the app, with no phone call and no retention script. Cancelling stops the next payment; you keep paid access until the end of the period you have already paid for. We do not automatically refund part-used months. If we refund a subscription payment in full, the subscription ends and paid access stops straight away.
Separately, because you are buying online as a consumer, you have a legal right to cancel within 14 days of subscribing and get your money back. If you ask us to start your paid access straight away, you can still cancel within those 14 days, but we may keep a proportionate amount for the days you had access.
Physical products, such as sachets, have their own 14-day right to change your mind, which runs from delivery rather than from order. For hygiene reasons this may not apply to a pouch once its seal has been opened. To exercise any of these rights, email hello@getrecompose.com. A plain sentence saying you want to cancel is enough.
15. Using Recompose fairly
- Use the app for your own personal, non-commercial use.
- Do not copy, scrape or bulk-download content or data from the app or the website.
- Do not try to break, overload, reverse-engineer or get around the security of the service, or to reach another member’s data.
- Do not use the app to break the law or to harm anyone.
16. Who owns what
The app, its design, its written content, its illustrations and photographs and its name belong to us or to those who license them to us. You may use them to use the app, and not for anything else. The food and exercise data comes from open datasets used under their own licences, credited on our licences page.
17. Keeping the service running
We aim to keep Recompose available, but we do not promise it will never be down. We may update, change or withdraw features, and we may carry out maintenance. Some features are new and may be marked as coming soon or change as we improve them. If we ever discontinue a paid feature you are paying for, we will refund the part of your subscription that covers it.
We may suspend or close an account that is being used to break these terms, to harm other members, or to break the law. Except where the law requires otherwise, we will tell you why.
18. Our responsibility to you
We do not exclude or limit our liability where the law does not allow it. That includes death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, and your statutory rights as a consumer under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Those rights stand whatever this page says.
Beyond that: Recompose is an information and tracking tool, and we are responsible for it working reasonably as described. We are not responsible for health outcomes, for decisions you make about your medication, or for losses that were not a foreseeable result of us getting something wrong. Where we are liable, our liability is limited to the amount you have paid us in the 12 months before the problem arose.
19. Complaints
Email hello@getrecompose.com and tell us what went wrong. We aim to reply within 5 working days and to resolve things within 30 days. If you are not satisfied, you can contact the Citizens Advice consumer helpline, and you always keep the right to bring a claim in court.
20. The rest
- These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. You can bring a claim in the courts of England and Wales, or in the courts of Scotland or Northern Ireland if you live there.
- If any part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still applies.
- Not enforcing something once does not mean we have given up the right to enforce it later.
- These terms are between you and us. Nobody else can enforce them.
Common questions
Does subscribing to Recompose get me a prescription?
No. Recompose does not prescribe or supply any medication, and subscribing has no effect on your prescription. You get your medication from your prescriber or pharmacy exactly as before.
How do I cancel?
From inside the app, in a couple of taps, or by emailing hello@getrecompose.com. Cancelling stops the next payment, and you keep access until the end of the period you have paid for. If you subscribed through the App Store or Google Play, cancel in your Apple or Google account settings.
What happens to my data if I cancel?
Cancelling a subscription does not delete anything; your account and your history stay. If you want the data gone, withdraw health-data consent in Me → Consent & privacy, or delete the account outright from the Delete your data page.
